Our Impact

2022

Because of You

Our Families Healed Together.

What an incredible year! All the challenges we’ve had over the last few years have become opportunities to step up and move to a future-focused way of supporting our families! We are thrilled to say we have succeeded in so many ways, which our 2022 Impact Report illustrates. Each result is remarkable in its own right, and when added all together, we demonstrate the needs of our families with hospitalized children are first and foremost – no matter what! But we don’t do this work alone. We are grateful for a great community, resilient families, loyal donors, devoted staff, and steady (and growing) volunteers who keep the mission moving forward. We are looking forward to 2023 and working together with you to ease the burdens our families face every day.

Alisha Lambert was rushed to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital where she gave premature birth to twin girls at only 23 weeks. The girls were placed in the NICU and the Lambert family looked to the Ronald McDonald House for a place to stay. The House welcomed them with open arms!

“Being away from my family and having babies in the hospital was heartbreaking and stressful. RMHC is a wonderful place with amazing people. They bring light to life when it’s hard to stay positive!”

Our Supporters

By the Numbers

We are so grateful for the volunteers and donors at Ronald McDonald House Charities West Michigan! Without their hard work, dedication, and generosity, we wouldn’t be able to provide such essential amenities to the families staying here. Our goal is to make the stay for these families as comfortable and stress-free as possible. With the help of volunteers and donors, we can make that a reality.

We see the benefit that RMHC gives to families. We know what it’s like to sit in the hospital worrying about the health of your child.”

Red Shoe Gala

2022

At our 2022 Red Shoe Gala we recognized a few community members who made a big difference for RMHCWM families.

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

Total Quality Logistics LLC.

From making meals to yard work at the House to setting up this space today, they stepped up time and time again. Whenever we have a cancellation in our volunteer calendar, we know we can put out the call to Total Quality Logistics and they will answer to make sure our families don’t experience any gaps in service at the House.

HERO OF THE HOUSE

Andrew Grashuis

Andrew is a three-term Board member, the founder of the Ada Chili and Beer Fest in December each year whose proceeds benefit the House, he has brought many people & companies to us as donors, volunteers and sponsors. He is genuine and passionate about helping families. We know he is a great example of what “giving back” mean. When asked what motivates him, he shrugs and says, “it’s just what you do.”
HEART OF THE HOME

West Michigan Area McDonald’s Owner Operators

Did you know that McDonald’s Corporation provides us our license and amazing name recognition but does not provide financial support. It is this group of independent business owners who step up for the house every day through Happy Meal promotions, selling hats and drink sleeves and training their crews to ask customers to “round up for RMHC”. We can always count on them.
