Ronald McDonald House Charities West Michigan Receives $3,000 Grant from Greenville Area Community Foundation
Press Release – June 18, 2025
Grand Rapids, MI –Ronald McDonald House Charities West Michigan (RMHCWM) is honored to announce the receipt of a $3,000 grant from the Greenville Area Community Foundation. This funding directly supports RMHCWM’s Family Support Program, which provides free housing, meals, and comprehensive support services to families traveling to Grand Rapids for their child’s medical care.
For over 35 years, RMHCWM has provided a “home away from home” for families with hospitalized children, serving more than 10,000 families. The Family Support Program eases the financial and emotional stress of medical crises by offering free lodging, meals, transportation, and other essential services.
“Thanks to the Greenville Area Community Foundation, we can continue to remove barriers to care for families from Montcalm County and beyond,” said Salina Bishop, President & CEO of RMHC West Michigan. “This grant helps ensure that families can focus on what matters most – the health and well-being of their child.”
In 2024 alone, 18 families from the Greenville and Montcalm County area stayed at RMHCWM, collectively saving an estimated $53,978 over 274 nights. As the demand for pediatric healthcare continues to grow in Grand Rapids, RMHCWM expects to serve approximately 350 families this year.
The $3,000 grant supports RMHCWM’s ongoing efforts to provide not just a place to stay, but a place to heal, together.
