RMHC West Michigan Hosts Unforgettable Fundraising Gala: The Event

Grand Rapids, MI — On May 1, Ronald McDonald House Charities West Michigan (RMHCWM) hosted a reimagined version of their annual fundraising gala at GLC Live at 20 Monroe. This year’s event – called The Event – celebrated their 35th anniversary and was an evening that left guests inspired, moved, and energized by the impact of the House’s mission.
The evening brought together community members, donors, and partners for a powerful celebration of the families served by RMHC West Michigan. From heartfelt stories to stunning visual elements and moving presentations, every detail was carefully crafted to showcase the care and compassion that define the organization’s work.
“The Event was more than a fundraiser – it was a reflection of the heart and soul of our mission,” said Salina Bishop, President and CEO of RMHC West Michigan. “Seeing our team come together with such passion and excellence to create an evening that truly moved our guests was incredibly meaningful. It reminded me why we do what we do.”
Salina continued, “What made The Event so special for me was standing on stage and sharing our vision for how we show up for families. My remarks reflected where we’re headed – expanding our reach, deepening our impact, and ensuring that every family feels seen, supported, and surrounded by care. It was an exciting moment that captured both where we are and where we’re going.”
During the program, Salina unveiled visual renderings of several exciting upcoming projects for RMHC West Michigan, including a family room located at the new Pine Rest Pediatric Center of Behavioral Health, an expanded and inclusive playground located at the House on Cedar St, and shared the relaunch of the hospitality cart located at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. These updates reflect the organization’s deep commitment to creating a home-away-from-home that grows alongside the needs of its families.
Funds raised during The Event will directly support RMHC West Michigan’s mission of keeping families close to the care and resources they need while their child receives medical treatment.
