Ronald McDonald House Charities West Michigan Announces 2024 Board Changes

(Grand Rapids, MI) – Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) West Michigan announces several changes to its board of directors for 2024, including:

Board President

Lindel Hoff has been elected to serve as board president for 2024.

Hoff started volunteering at RMHC with her daughter Lydia beginning in 2014. Hoff assisted with cooking meals and serving on committees before joining the board. Hoff co-chaired the organization’s recent More Rooms More Love capital campaign.

“Seeing the emotional and economic toll of having a child in the hospital drives everything our staff and volunteers do at the RMHC,” said Lindel Hoff. “With the support of our community, we can provide a warm and comfortable home away from home so families can stay together during this extremely challenging time in their lives.”

“We are thrilled to have Lindel Hoff continue her long association with us as our board president. Her business background and passion for the mission will help us now and into the future,” said RMHC West Michigan executive director Ellen Carpenter.

New Board Members

RMHC West Michigan is proud to announce the appointment of six new members to its board of directors in 2024: Dustin Furney, Solmeris Hernandez, Brian Moore, Elyse Palmer, Tom Smanik, and Ashley VanGelderen. Each brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the board in areas ranging from finance to health to human resources.

“We are thrilled to welcome these talented individuals to our board,” said Ellen Carpenter. “Their diverse backgrounds and perspectives will be invaluable as we continue to grow and innovate to serve families with hospitalized children.”

Outgoing Board Members

RMHC West Michigan would like to sincerely thank its outgoing board members: Scott Timmer, Adam Clarke, Ashley Chalk, and Andrew Grashuis. Their contributions and dedication to the company have been invaluable and will be missed.

“We thank these outgoing members for their service and commitment to RMHC West Michigan,” said Ellen Carpenter. “Their leadership and guidance have helped us achieve great success, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”
