As a Local Programs Volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House you make a direct

Family Room Volunteer
Located at Pine Rest Pediatric Center of Behavioral Health, volunteers in the Ronald McDonald House Family Room help create a calm, welcoming space for families seeking care.
Volunteers play an important role in offering comfort and support while respecting privacy, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and ensuring a safe, family-centered environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Support day-to-day operations
- Maintain a clean and organized environment
- Prepare light meals or snacks
- Restock snacks and supplies
- Assist with activities for children and caregivers
Family Room volunteers are responsible for meeting and adhering to the standards of Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, including but not limited to all required trainings, health screenings, immunizations, and compliance requirements set forth by the hospital.
Time Commitment:
3 hours (or more if desired) per week, with a flexible but consistent schedule.
Hospitality Cart Volunteers
Located at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, hospitality cart volunteers bring comfort and support directly to families receiving medical care. Volunteers travel throughout the hospital with a mobile cart offering snacks, beverages, and comfort items while helping raise awareness of Ronald McDonald House services.
This role focuses on positive, brief interactions with families—providing a moment of relief during a stressful time—while tracking basic data and representing the Ronald McDonald House in a warm, approachable way.
Hospitality Cart volunteers are responsible for meeting and adhering to the standards of Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, including but not limited to all required trainings, health screenings, immunizations, and compliance requirements set forth by the hospital.
Time Commitment:
3 hours every other week, with a flexible but consistent schedule.
